For my work in progress, my project was writing poetry using a verse form called “Luc Bat.” It gets difficult not knowing what to write and to think. It takes time to understand writing related to my culture and my identity, which I would focus on, the Vietnamese poetry and then the Canadian poetry, including respecting the rule, and as of now, I’m a bit behind. I listened to a cultural song with instruments without any vocals, and it did help me write and think of my poem; however, the rhyming part is a bit difficult in words that need to relate in a sentence. It inspires me from the poem “Peaceful Homeland,” and I want it to make similar to a local poet. Also, I couldn’t do poetry in Vietnamese because it gets difficult writing with accents, and it would take the time that would cause falling behind even the translation would be wrong, and it’s better to do it in English. As I could tell, there is no changing for changing titles of the poem, and I still need to record myself reading the poem.
